After Critical Update, Can’t open Attachments in Outlook Express:
I don’t use Outhouse Express, so I don’t know the answer to this problem. A friend (running W2K) just installed the critical updates from Microsoft. Now he can’t open attachments he receives in Outlook. What settings need to be changed/updated so he can open attachments?

Hi Ron
Try tools > options - Security tab, there's a check box "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus". Uncheck that, & it should be good to go  Cheryl |

Rather silly really. The default is to block most all attachments, even those that can't possibly carry a virus.
