Hi I had run a utility (a stupid mistake) and asked it to search for unnescessary iles, searching for DLL's. After I found a whole bunch.... seeing as they were s'posed' 2 B unnescessary, files I kinda deleted them. Sems ever since I did that, my PC is a lot slower than it was prior to my act of stupidity!
Also, this has been happening 4 awhile now, when in Windows Explorer, Iwould click on a folder, then it would jump to th other folder and then back to original one, and then finally back to folder it started from. I am running WIN98 SE, however when I tried to run setup from the CD, it tells me that I have an icompatible version. Could that be bcause I have been keeping up w/ the patches updates, etc.? Suggestions / recommendations?

Are you sure the utility didn't keep backups of the DLL's before deleting?

I would think that the fact that windows still runs error free shows that they were unnecessary files though and I wonder if just a good scandisk, defrag, and clean out those temp files may help..And clean out your startup folder, You can use the msconfig utility and uncheck anything not absolutely necessary to run in the backround...I have found over the years that this fixxs many a PC of people who were never taught to do these things and their PC's are so bogged down and performance is bad, but these simple steps can do wonders, also maybe that utility itself has put itself in the startup folder and is always running promising to keep your PC running better but actually could be hogging up resources... Check It out... Even if this doesn't totally fix it all, it won't hurt...
