Help!! Windows hangs on startup

I am having a problem involving windows on startup....It
loads fine, but it will not load Norton Internet Security
properly. Everything else loads fine, but then nothing
happens for about 2 minutes. during this time nothing will
open. After about 2 minutes, The the computer seems to
attempt to access the 3 1/2 drive and the harddrive and
then Norton starts up fine. This is a computer I built
myself. It has an Athalon XP 2500 chip, 512 gig ram, Asus
A7V600 Motherboard and windows xp home edition, Western
Digital 120 gig H/D partitioned into three sections with 15
gigs alocated for the O/S. I have reset the bios back to
defaults, contacted Noton and tried every suggestion they
had under the
sun, nothing seems to work. Anyone have any suggestions???

Its a Norton Problem.

I use to get it alot. It happens when you install an older version of Norton System works, Norton Firewall, or Internet Securty and they have not been updated.

Update all of the products and it should fix it. On one machine I fixed, this didnt fix the problem and I had to format the machine.
