98 drivers

ok i have two lan cards, one on this comp and one on my mother's. the drivers for the cards only support up to win2k & winme, while im running xp on both. is there any way to get xp to use these drivers?

ive tried to update the drivers, but neither have xp support (they are rather old...), and I dont have any money left to buy new ones.

run the update driver wizard and select chose witch driver to install then browse to the driver cd and find the win2000 drivers and select them window will give you a warning about unsigned drivers just hit continue anyway windows will then make a system restore point and install the drivers if you do get any problams then use system restore to go back befor the driver install

If those are fairly old cards, mine's a netgear 311 which must be close to 5 years old, it's very possible that XP already has the drivers you need installed.
Did you check network connections in control panel ?
If the card is identified there all you have to do is set it up for whatever you want.
If it's for DSL tech support can walk you through the set up for one comp and you can use your notes for the second.
HTH.
