the file is a program that I D/L'd from KAZAA approx 244K. It comes in an 'extractable' format. So thatafter extraction, one could run 'setup'... and install the s/w.
Thx again. |

What Windows version?
This error can mean the file is corrupt, the swap file is set too low, or virus activity on the PC. First do an up-to-date anti-virus scan on the PC. It's unlikely to be the cause, but it never hurts to be careful. Do a virus scan on the file to make "it" is clean, then try to run the the .exe on another PC. If it does the same, then the file is corrupt. If it doesn't, then try increasing the size of your swap file (Page File in W2K/XP terminology) and see if the .exe runs. http://support.microsoft.com/default...n-us;308417#31 HTH |

A 244K Selfextracting archive that gives that message is a likely candidate for the recycle bin and beyond. Sounds like a corrupt file - or if you really need it, then try to open it as an archive within the program that archived it. For example if it was created by WinRAR, get WinRAR and try to open it.
