Angry XP switches on/off automatically

hi guys
i recently upgraded a computer from win98-XP and all seemed well since it fulfilled the minimum requirements.
But the owner recently told me that since that upgrade his computer jus switches of when it feels like.
I installed an anti-virus and Norton system works. I run the windoctor and other utilities to no avail.
So wat must i do
i thought of just formatng the whole thing and trying to reload

Send a message via MSN to doctorgonzo
Go into the BIOS and make sure the wake on Keyboard, wake on LAN, wake on modem ring, and wake on just about anything else are all disabled. That should take care of the switching on by itself.

As for the switching off, there could be a lot of possible causes for that. Does it happen consistently? After it has been on for a while? Any more information?
