where to download scandisk

I am running XP (home ed) but it appears I don't have scandisc on the machine, how do I install/download scandisc?

scandisk is chkdisk in xp open my computer right click the hard drive goto properties tools and check error checking and hit check now you will have to restart the computer as it only runs during boot

XP doesn't have Scandisk- but- it has it's NT equivalent "CheckDisk".

My Computer, right-click the drive, Properties, Tools, Check Now..., Select Options, Start.

You may be prompted to restart Windows before it will run.

Actually, for a bit of trivia, "chkdsk" is from the days of DOS

Doesnt run only during boot. It will run in the GUI usually - the only exception is when there are files in use (mounted). And it will warn you if that is the case.
