IE6 Toolbars
OS: Windows 2000
Downloaded and installed some software that, unbeknownst to me, added a new toolbar to my IE browser. It also put a folder in my Program Files as well as in my Documents and Settings. After numerous attempts to get rid of the new toolbar, including following the uninstall instructions, I was left with a toolbar that would NOT uninstall. Even deleting the files through WIndows would only lead to them being replenished upon reboot. I finally rebooted in SAFE mode and deleted the files through DOS. All this because I wanted to keep the original software. But....the toolbar option still remains in IE under View-Toolbars even though selecting it now results in no toolbar. How do I get rid of that option under View-Toolbars? |

Ran Adware but it didn't identify any registry problems. Just picked up a couple of tracking cookies which my window washer would have deleted next run anyway. Am still mystified.

try regedit and do a search for the name of the tool bar then delete it but make a back up of your registry first
