I also have a button that serves me no use at all what so ever.. its a button that resides in the system tray and I have no recolection as to how to turn the damn thing off. Its called the Safely Remove Hardware button... In it is a couple things to safely remove my ZIP and USB CABLE Modem.. I want that gone too lol Can anyone help?

open device manager find the nic card and disable it by right clicking on it and select properties and tick the disabled in this hardware profile
then open regedit go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and delete ctfmon.exe reboot the computer and post back
