XP Pro Product Numbers
What is the difference between XP Pro poduct numbers E85-00086 and E85-01011. They are both sold as XP Pro Retail and most sites say they are the same product. I've searched Google and Microsoft for the answer but couldn't find it. Any help would be appreciated.

The second one might have sp1 included? Or they could be "lot" numbers.

E85-00086 is made by microsoft and sold by them
E85-01011 is made by other companies and sold under license from microsoft as they can not make enough disks themselves so they farm production out. the 2 product numbers are the only difference every thing else is the same

Thanks for the info. I ordered an E85-00086 from a site and I'm not sure what I received because there isn't a product number on it. It didn't come in a box. it is in a cardboard folder bent like a banana, that's another story. The only number on the cardboard is X08-74363 which is different than the number I found on a retail box at a local office supply. I guess it's refund time. Again thanks for the info.
