ERROR that I don't understand
I'm getting this error and have no idea what it means.Can you help?

The most common cause is spyware. To find out if that's the culprit, download, install, immediately updat and run Spybot and/or AdAware (I use them both.) Let them clean up any spyware they find.
If that doesn't fix it, take a look at this Microsoft Knowledge Base article. |

Go to Simmtester.com and download DocMemory to test your RAM.

yes as Cricket says test your ram and all so test your hard drive as it can be a bad sector on that as well get your hard drive manufactures diag prog and do a full test

I get the same error message, sometimes when I open up IE, Mozilla, or Microsoft Outlook express. Although, after a few more open attempts, I get through.
Could be a software problem although somehow I think it could be just a hard drive missbehaving during the opening file process. Anyways. Please PM me if you have found a solution. Thanks. |

Just a little side comment. I had a memory problem when I first put this machine together and Docmemory didn't find it. I tried Memtest86 on a boot floppy and it found a bad stick. For that reason only, I recommend Memtest86 over Docmemory.
