I'm not a tech person so I haven't a clue as to what's happening. My computer is fairly new, but I never had this problem defragmenting it before. I get a message that says "Files that cannot be defragmented" then it lists some files such as: 'Documents and Settings\All Users\Application'; 'WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\FFASTLOG.TXT'; etc. The only thing I did previously was to down-load "Adobe 6.0 from the net. Adobe files were among those listed as not being able to be defragmented. I removed them but it hasn't helped. If anyone can help me I would appriciate it. I am new to computers and a total computer dummy.

Files that are in use can't be defragmented. It really isn't a big deal, though. If you want, you can purchase software that can defrag everything, even the swap file, by running before Windows even starts up. That eliminates the files-in-use problem.
