I try to keep the programs that start up with my system at a min.
XP pro. There is one program that I do not know what it is or what it does. startup item: dumprep o-k Comand: %systemroot%\system32\dumprep o-k Location: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\windows\current\run I want to find out if its OK to stop it from starting when I start up the PC. Thanks for any insight |

This utility writes debugging information when your system encounters an error. You can disable it by going to CONTROL PANEL > SYSTEM > ADVANCED tab > Startup & Recovery button > and selecting NONE under Write debugging information.
More often than not, most people either (a) dont care about the crash as long as the system recovers gracefully, or (b) dont know how to debug the information contained, so it can be turned off. |
