I was told there was not much difference between home and Pro. Generally, if you have a network, get XP. If not, Home will save you a few $$$.

Pro gives you multi processor support (IE 2 pentium chips on the motherboard) and the ability to join a domain. That is it except for the fact that you are a little lighter for the extra bills you spend on pro.

Not entirely true... I have ME, 95, and Red Hat all networked to XP Home.

The key word with the network is "Domain" if your just using a workgroup to network your home LAN the Home version is fine. I do think XP PRO has Multilingual Support (different users can use different languages) to which Home does not.
