how to enter BOIS on windows 98

how do you enter the BIOS on a windows 98 machine? i have heard 3 different things. when restarting hit F1, Delete key, or Tab. the only one that does anything is F1 but it says its in the system setup, is that the same as BIOS??

maybe it is and i'm too dumb to realize it! lol

yes, system setup is likely the same as bios on your machine.
The BIOS loads before the operating system, (it's actually a chip on your motherboard) so it varies by mobo manufacturer (which is where the different ways to access it come in) The OS doesn't matter a bit.
hope this helps..

The boot up screen should tell you how to go access your bios. Pay close attention to the 1st 7 seconds when you restart the system. It should give you the info there. It's usually an "F" key (F1, F10) or the del key. I think it's F2 on my ME and Del with my sig system.

Windows has nothing to do with the BIOS, it's the BIOS itself that contains what U seek....

On my systems when the boot screen comes on, you'll see a segment, about 1 to 7 seconds in as mentioned above, that says "hit ____ to enter set-up. On my machines the blank is the Delete key, and Set-up is the bios.
