sound recorder
Can anyone tell me how to increase the amount of time allotted to record? apparently this is only for sound bytes. I'm trying to record music into Audio Cleaning Lab & I believe it's eating too much of my resources because when I play back it skips & stutters.I've tried shutting down everything that isn't absolutely needed but nothing works. Using Sound Recorder seems to work but it will only allow 1 min. of sound. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have the same result of skipping and stuttering trying to record into CDEX. Please post some more details and maybe someone will be able to help. Are you going from a CD into CleaningLabs , or from a track on your hard drive previously ripped from the CD? What memory? Although I have 512mb so that should not be the problem . I'd say forget about using sound recorder, its just a very basic accessory.
PS- I see Cleaning Labs is a filtration type software like 'WaveRepair' Where are you getting the stuttering ? Before or after you run it through CleaningLabs ? Are you recording cassette/vinyl or what into it ? Last edited by Parangles; 09-27-2003 at 03:46 PM. |

So far I've tried recording from both vinyl & tape. I have never tried going from cd into Cleaning Lab. I have 256mb w/40 gb drive. 333mHz AMD K6. My ram is maxed but I did it with 1 card. I was told I should have gone with 2 128mb cards. maybe thats part of it. It recognizes 256 but I've been told it may not be using it properly. I've gotten the skips from music that I've downloaded also. It will play a CD in the ROM with no problem.

I think what you have -ram/pcu/etc is fine for what you are trying to do.( For the time being- ie it could be better but its not the problem ) What are you playing the music that you downloaded etc , through ? WinAmp, RealPlayer,WinMediaplayer, etc. ?
Come back to me, but also see my post: http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?threadid=75379 I don't know about that program you are using, have you checked out the help files on it? first you have to extract/rip the tracks and then as a second stage, filter/clean them. A- into PC as .wav or ? , B- filter/clean, C- playback. You have to isolate where the problem is- at which stage. Cheers, Chris |
