98se/xp dual boot
I curently have 98se on this computer. I bought a copy of XP because I was suposed to have built another computer by now but it has been pushed back to early next year
.So, I want to get to know XP better so that when I finaly do get my computer built I will know how everything in XP works. I have 2 hard drives. The first is a 20gig seperated into 2 10 gig partitions. One for 98se and the other for programs. The second is a 40 gig that only shows up as 32, can't figure out why. It holds all my data files like word files, movies, music, etc. How big of a partition does XP need, will 5-8gigs do? And how do I go about making a dual boot between 98se and xp?

for testing 5 or 10 gig is fine. for the seting up of a dual boot boot the computer from the xp cd (you will have to make the cd drive first boot device in the bios ) then run set up chose the drive you want to instal xp to any one except the c drive and windows wil instal when its finished every time you turn the computer on you wil get a boot menue asking you to pick a operating system to start then chose eather 98 or xp

If you are going to get rid of xp later on, I would use fat32 rather than ntfs. When you want to remove the boot menu, just boot with the win98 bootdisk and type sys c:. That will remove the boot menu quickly.
