I have just swopped to XP and have just loaded McAfee Viruscan V4.0 - I got an error saying Oil Change was not compatible so didnt load it. HOWEVER I have now realised that viruscan is also c***ing up the computer as well - BUT it wont let me uninstall it - how do I get rid of it any ideas anyone????? Paul |

Why can't you uninstall? Are you logged in as administrator?

I was logged in as administrator - but all that happens is the computer hangs and doesnt uninstall.
I've tried using the programs uninstall as well as add/remove programs - same result. I have now used system restore to go back prior to installation and on the face of it Virusscan has dissappeared - does it still stay in hidden in the background though somewhere? |

How long are you waiting? I've had a couple programs take a minute or two before it starts. One actually took several minutes.
