Windows 2000 cmd prompt question...
Hi I am a newcomer here so if I am asking a question that has seemed to be ver redundant, I am sorry and hopefully you can just point me in the right direction to a previous thread...otherwise...here we go...
My question is, if is it possible to send someone a windows message from your computer if you know their IP address? I have been trying to use this cmd prompt in windows 2000: net send (IP adress) (message) this has not been working because it says that the person is not on my network...therefore I concluded that net send does not work for sending messages to those who are not on their network...is this true? Is there any other way to send a windows message to someone without them being on your network? If so, what would the cmd prompt look like...remember this is for Windows 2000...thanx.
