I have just updated media Player to version 9 as recommended on the Microsoft update site and I am now wishing I hadn't bothered !!!!
Everything was running fine prior to the upgrade now whenever I click on a video link I get the following message - 'Windows Media Player cannot find the specified file. Be sure the path is typed correctly. If it is, the file does not exist at the specified location, or the computer where the file is stored is offline.' I have tried several other sites to check it wasn't just one site with the same result - I have also carried out the suggestions that Media Player makes with the error message to no avail. Does anybody know how to resolve this ? or if not how do I go back to version 8 Cheers |

Sussed it out - it was a setting on my firewall that was causing the problem - disabled the firewall and no problem - when I re-enabled it I got the pop up screen allowing me to configure access now everything is OK!!
I assume the setting had been lost/changed during the update to MP9 |
