Now What's Wrong?!!
My hard drive just started runing non-stop. The hard drive light is solid. I restarted it but when it tried to shut down it said it "DDE Server". What is that?!! Even after restarting the hard drive will not stop running. It runs constantly but the computer responds (slowly). The task manager does not show anything using CPU power and there is 370mb of RAM left. As I was typing this I restarted one more time and it seems to work now. What could have caused this? What is "DDE Server"?

I was not running the defragmenter. I could not find anything running in the Task Manager when this was happening.
