reformatting

I've had my computer for a bit now and it's starting to piss me off. So by my nature I want it to die How can I wipe my hard Drive clean so I can reinstall windows? I have XP. Also I have two partitions one with the operating system and the other with all my different saved files such as mp3's and videos. When I do this will I loose my MP3's and crap?

thanks
jcw

If you have a genuine WinXP CD and not a restore CD, just set the first boot device to the CD-ROM in BIOS and boot to the WinXP CD. The WinXP installer will take over, just read the on screen instructions. You'll eventually come to a screen that asks you what you want to do. Just make sure you only format the c: partition and don't format the partition with all your data..

You can do a clean install with your XP disc. And yes you will lose everything. If you want to save anything, burn it to a cd, if you have a burner.
