Deleting Drop Down List
Hi From Texas !
There is a drop down list from the address bar showing where you have been. You know hit the arrow at the end of the address bar and a drop down list will show. How do I delete some of these URLs ? I don't wont others to see where I have been when they get on the computer.-----OK,---I will come clean guys, I have been looking at naked ladies !. I have gone to about 10 sites and they are in this drop down list. So you can see why I want to delete..Ol'e Dad gets on the computer from time to time to check his stocks etc...... Dad has a tendency to talk a lot if you know what I mean , Mother and Family etc.......------------Don P.S.--- it is late now (3:50 AM), and I have to hit the bed and will check back here on Friday. |

I don't know how to delete individual entries from the list but you could open a second browser window, go to Google in the second browser and put your site in the google search. That way it will stay out of the drop down. Have fun. It's all part of growing up. Your dad probably sneaked looks at magazines growing up.

as far as deleting individual entries, open the history window and right click on the entry you want to delete and click delete. pretty simple.

In order to cover tracks, we need to do a bit more. Killing the drop down history is not enough!
1. Clear the address bar. Go to Tools > Internet Options > under the "General" tab > "Clear History" 2. Clear the cookies. On the General tab > "Clear Cookies" 3. Clear the temp internet files (this includes the pictures that Explorer saves so it can load the pages faster). On the "General" tab > "Delete Files..." That pretty much covers your tracks from friends/families. I assume you use IE. You guys are lucky. Back in the day, I had to go to the registry to delete address bar entries.

Hi Confused
Hi hobey19 Hi Statica Hi james8547 Gosh , thank all you guys for your interest in answering my post. I am just now getting to my computer, late 2AM central. Tonight , I don't have the urge to look at naked women on the web , but I will try all of your ideas. Sounds like to me they will work , in fact I know they will as I think them through. I will try each of your suggestion, not just one and quit , but all four. I will be going back to some of those URLs again sometime. Thinks again-----------Don |
