Reformatting without Disk?
When I bought my computer, it already had Windows XP loaded. Didn't come with a Windows XP disk or Emergency disk. How can I reformat without a disk or can I?

Is it a storebought computer? Does it have some kind of restore partition that can be accessed to return the HD to the way it was sold?
If not, then you are pretty much SOL. Buy the OEM version of Windows XP, that's about all you can do if you want to start fresh. |

Circuit City, and unfortunately after reading some posts, it is an HP Pavillion 750n. I've been told it has some kind of restore partition that can be accessed to return the HD to the way it was sold, but don't know how or where to get to it.

Got it! While your computer is starting up, hit F10 during bios and will bring you to screen that will allow you to do a partial or full system restore. Computer works great now.

xp also has restore points built into it, and you can restore the system to any date that it was set at.
