I can't believe this!!

The problem I had here with this mystery folder, well it's back.I thought I had it deleted just to find it again (after booting up)on my hard drive.I have tried everything to get rid of it and now it has become an obsession with me.I will not rest till it's gone.I need your help to get rid of this folder.

I have changed the name of the folder to a and I put it on my desktop.I have been able to delete everything inside except what's in the screen shot take a look.

Thanks

Ranger-- Here's an idea. Go to Google and find a program called Registry Crawler- there's a 30 day free trial. Use it to search the registry for anything with your file's name and delete it. This is a great program, and has pulled off several of what I consider minor miracles for me. Search the registry using the files original name also. Just be very careful not to delete something else by accident. Prob a good idea to backup your reg first.

I would like to try this again
---------
Thanks to MS-MVP Kelly Theriot for this tip.

Open a Command Prompt window and leave it open. Close all open programs. Click Start, Run and enter TASKMGR.EXE Go to the Processes tab and End Process on Explorer.exe. Leave Task Manager open. Go back to the Command Prompt window and change to the directory the AVI (or other undeletable file) is located in. At the command prompt type DEL where is the file you wish to delete. Go back to Task Manager, click File, New Task and enter EXPLORER.EXE to restart the GUI shell. Close Task Manager.

This works every time!

Would someone please tell me how to do this?I don't understand the instructions.(Go back to the Command Prompt window and change to the directory the AVI (or other undeletable file) is located in.)

The folder that I want to delete is on my desktop,so would it be writen like this in the command? If not HOW?

c:\a\del

This is a crazy idea floating around the back of my head and it may be totally untrue, but perhaps that folder is just the temporary folder for all Windows Installers and after installing a new program with an MSI installer perhaps the MSN information there will be overwritten with the new program. Just a thought because I know MSN uses the .MSI type installer.
