Toolbar problem explorer
Hi,
I've got this really weird problem with the explorer in Windows XP. I don't have any toolbars when I directly open the explorer from within the windows directory (explorer.exe). To clarify I included this screenshot. I hope somebody can tell me how to get my bars back. I allready tried to right-click off-course, but no effect. I appreciate any help, PiC |

Try a keyboard shortcut, hold alt and press V, see if you can get the view drop down window, and it should highlight "Toolbars" then press the right arrow key, and select "Standard Buttons"

I also tried that. I just can't get those bars to re-appear.
Might this be a problem in the registry? PiC |

Not likely unless youve been in there recently...
Maybe were missing something, now, what you did was right click on the start button right, and chose Explore right? Myabe its something in your Folder Options? Have you tried clicking the Restore Defaults button in there... |

The weird thing about all this is, is when I open the explorer via "My Documents" or "My Computer" for example the bars are being displayed without a problem. I just find it inconvenient to every time push the button which displays the folders.
I tried resetting my folder options, no effect. It only resets the content not the bars and menu's. I haven't been in the registry btw. Maybe a virus? Or is that unlikely. PiC |

I solved the problem. I used the "really come in handy" feature from Windows XP: system recovery.
Thanks for all your replies. I still am not sure what caused this weird problem. PiC |

LOL, indeed. One of the big improvements. Certainly for these kind of weird problems. Saves you a lot of time.
