It's Back
I thought I had resolved this issue but I didn't. Evey other time I start my computer and try to sign into MSN Messenger it says, "A newer version is available. You must install the newer version in order to continue. Do you want to install the newer version now?". I click yes and it asks me if i want to repair or remove MSN Messenger 6.0. I already have 6.0 so I click repair. It says it's finished but when I try to sign in it starts all over. I will go through this process several times before it will let me sign in. The next time I restart my computer the entire process will start over. I have never experienced a problem like this. How do I fix it?

I don't use Messenger, so I'm not that familiar with it, but have you tried to "remove" it, then let it it reinstall on the next boot?

installing the new version 6.0 does not remove the older version, thus the upgrade notice.
you must disable the older version and only use 6.0. you can remove it from the start up menu. and prevent it from starting up |

The old version is gone. I have been running 6.0 since it came out months ago without a problem. This started happening after I installed a Microsoft Multimedia keyboard and a new PSU. Two completely unrelated things.
