Upgrading from XP Home to XP Pro...
I'm helping a friend upgrade from XP Home to XP Pro so he can log into his business's domain. I'm gonna order the XP Pro OEM cd from Mwave. I'm assuming I just pop the cd in and let the Windows installer perform the upgrade. Is this correct? Do I boot from the cd or boot to Windows and perform the ugrade from there? Is there anything else to be aware of?

Do it from within Windows, be sure to turn off or uninstall any AV software. I'm not sure if you will have to reinstall any updates from MS or not but do check after the upgrade.

It's a pretty smooth process but it seems that it takes longer than a normal install. I did one recently and didn't have to re-install anything that was already installed.
