Help

My second Pc stopped working and it appears that this is because the HD was some how formated now the pc won't recognize my Windows cd. Also setup looks diferent and the error I get at startup is invalid system disk please replace and press any key. I am starting to think maybe that win disk is an upgrade not a full version. do I need to run any kind of boot disk before it will recognize my win disk.... is there someplace I can get a free copy of win 95 in case it really is just an upgrade disk or would the best thing to do be to slave the drive to the pc I am using right now and copy Win to it and see if it works that way. Any suggestions are welcome.

Cool

What type of PC? Do you have a CD with OS or a recovery CD? If recovery CD you should be able to load per instructions that came with PC. IF it is a CD with OS it will be bootable if it is WIN98 or later. Go into BIOS and set first boot device as your CD and then boot up.

If it is a full version then you will be set to go. If it is a upgrade version then you will be prompted to furnish a qualifying OS (WIN95 for example) in order to finish.

So some more information would be helpful.
