System32.exe is missing???

well i am running windows xp pro and i just got Norton Anti-Virus 2004 installed on my comp and when i restarted my computer it showed an error saying that "system32.exe is missing from D:\WINDOWS\system32 trying pressing Start and Search for the file"

so i uninstalled norton and the problem was still there so i dont know why its missing

if you guys know what the problem is please write back, or if u know where i can get system32.exe

ok I just did a search on my computer and system32.exe is not a xp system file it is a virous

ok umm i downloaded the updater that farooq gave me and then i did a full scan, but nothing has happend and that error still apears when i start up window

Did you reverse the registry & system.ini entries as shown in the Symantec removal instructions? Make sure you follow the removal instructions completely.
