installing windows 2000

As some of you may know my windows ME wont boot so im going to install windows 2000. I wanted to know if it is possible to install windows200 on my computer without reformating it (I know the answer is probly no but it cant hurt to ask). If not how do I reformat my computer if it doesnt boot to install 2000. I never installed a OS or reformated a computer before.

Yes you can do an upgrade from Win ME to Win 2K without formatting, though it's not recommended because they are based on different platforms and there is a big potential for conflict.

To do a fresh install of Win 2K, just boot the system with the CD and follow the wizard which will let you format the partition and install the files.

Hope this helps.
