Would This Be Safe?
Found this program (ierad.zip) that "disintegrates all versions of Internet Explorer(3 to 5.5) from Windows 95/98/98SE/ME and 2000 (not 2000SR2 and XP). it removes 99% and clears 30MB. the 1% is to maintain compatibility with HTML"
I use IE6 with Internet Tools and do not use OutLook Express or Exchange. Sounds enticing to free up that much space but I wonder what the consequences would be. Does anyone have a clue? thanks in advance, jhona |

How big of a hard drive are you using? To me it seems like freeing up 30MB of space is not worth the trouble that might come up from removing IE from the system.

I'd also stay away from it. 30 MB is not worth the trouble of messing something up and then spending a really nice afternoon reinstalling Windows and all the programs.

Deleting IE's
I was afraid you all would say that. I have already once done a full re-install and would not like to do that again any time soon. thanks for the fast reply and stopping me from doing something really dumb.

If you don't like IE, then don't use it. Leave it on your system. If you remove it with a third party program, your just asking for trouble.
Download a different browser if you like. Like Moziilla or Opera, and make one of them your default browser. Simple as that. No harm done to your PC. |
