Why Do I have a Default monitor?
Hi everyone,
A few weeks ago I upgraded to a new video card from a 32 mb Nvidia to a Radeon 7500 64 mb card. Everything went smoothly after removing the old drivers and using the caralyst software from Radeon, except for one minor "problem". The system settings now say I have two monitors: The Princeton monitor I have always had and a new unnamed "default" monitor. I remove the default monitor and Windows finds new hardware when I reboot the machine and installs it again! Why can't I remove it and it stay removed? Thanks |

Remove both and reboot.. let it detect the monitor again. If it detects the right one.. great... if not.. let it load the default monitor, then go to the driver for it and update it to the correct one.
