Question Win98SE & 2.4Mhz P4

Is there any limitation associated with Win98SE vis a vis the speed of a Processor, specifically an Intel P4 2.4 Mhz?

I still prefer 98 over XP and would like to stay with it instead of installing XP on this new computer.

Also, when will M$ discontinue support for Win98SE?

Thanks,

G.F.K.

Yes... Win98 has issues with processors over 2.0Ghz and MAY requre a patch. Not all systems are affected, but you will most likely get a NDIS error on bootup. My recommendation, ditch 98, put on XP and switch it back to a classic look.. it runs SOOOO much better than Win9X ever could.

To the best of my knowledge, MS has already discontinued support for 98 and no longer offers new updates for it.
