Question outlook menu bar gone! HELP!

my menu bar in Outlook 2000 has disappeared. It has not been resized or deselected. I have no right click options to select any toolbars. Have already tried to repair, and uninstall and reinstall. Nothing. It I put the file path in the run box with the /Safe switch and it opens up with the tool bar. Anyone how to get my menus and toolbars back. When pressing alt+v to get view menu up all I get is a clicking noise. And I have already tried the resetoutlookbar switch.

Sounds very interesting. Do you have a screen shot?

Are you talking about the toolbar or the outlook bar, that lists your folders?

Click view, and check outlook bar for the folders. For the toolbars click view -> toolbars -> standard.

I do see an option to remove all tool bars but it is greyed out on mine.

View/Toolbars/Customize/Toolbars... remove all checks (including menu bar).

That would suck... Let us know what you find.

I'lll try to attach a screen shot. Please see the screen shot. I cannot get to the view menu, either via the menu bar at the top of the screen or via the keyboard shortcut. It is the menu bar and not the outlook bar.

Hold down Alt+v, and see if it gives you the view menu. Then go to toolbars -> customize. Under customize check file menu.

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OUTLOOK.EXE" /recycle

"start in" box is blank

if you start the program from start, programs, outlook you still get no toolbar. This is also the case if you start outlook from the run box with the path line. The only way I have been able to get the toolbar is to start outlook from the run command box with the /safe switch after it.

I think this pc has other problems though as scandisk and defrag won't work. The hard drive also spins up and runs sometimes even when you are doing nothing.

Is there any chance you have a virus?

Also you may want to use ad-aware or some other on it.
