Outlook express is a mini version where you can only basicaly get your mail from a POP3 server which is fine for most home users. Coorporate environments like mine use a microsoft exchange server which is IMAPI so we use Outlook for our coorporate mail...

I think the thing I enjoy most about the real Outlook is the spell check.

At home I used incredimail, Looking for a good replacment for this one.

Outlook has a good calender/planner system. OE is email only. Outlook has better contact organization and more contact options.

BAsically, like has been said, outlook is really suited of the office environment.

Which one is more secure? I mean when changing to restriced zones and disabling the bad stuff.

Also, will Outlook check hotmail like OE does?

Thanks.

Cool

As has been stated OE is good enough for most home users for email, myself included. I do wish that MS would include a calendar with it though. I just cain't seem to find a decent calendar. I bought Calendar Creator but find it cumberson to use.

The other thing is that Outlook Express is free, Outlook is not (comes as part of Office). Outlook is more feature rich as has already been discussed but it is more of a memory hog than OE. They both have their share of security issues.

I use MS Outlook. The only problem is will not open any files that it regards as level 1 security. Unfortuately .exe files are one of them.

Can anyone tell me will MS exchange server work on a normal single PC?.

Regards,

"Outlook Virus Enhancements: Outlook now helps you and organizations safeguard against malicious viruses by blocking e-mail attachments that are associated with unsafe files. Outlook also prevents programs from gaining programmatic access to your address book or from send e-mail messages on the your behalf. You are notified and given the option of continuing or halting the action. This prevents propagation and the spreading or e-mail viruses to others. Additionally, Outlook gives administrators options to customize these settings to meet organizational needs."

OL2002: Cannot Access Attachments

Go to the "How to Customize Attachment Security Behavior" section.

Regards,
Exchange 2000 and above not only have to be installed on a Windows 2K or above Server OS, they also have to be run in Active Directory.
