How can you change the boot pic in XP?

bah, you have to buy that software, so that doesn't really help all that much...

Here is how to do it manually:

You will need to edit the resources contained in the .EXE file, but they link to a resource editor program.

Rats. It's not working. I keep getting an error when I try to replace a BMP.

"Access violation at address 00402791 in module 'ResHacker.exe'. Write address 014BB000."

have you tryed to redownload 'ResHacker.exe' as it looks like your copy is damaged ?

You dont have to buy it... It just has a nag screen asking you to register it... but it doesnt force you to register it...

I tried downloading reshacker again, but the same thing happened.

The boot XP prog seemed to work, though.

Your welcome, that's why i pointed it out, reshacker never worked for me, but boot xp does the trick
