greedo samdrv.dll missing can't boot xp

if anyone knows where I could get help on this it would be a great help.

I can't do the recovery/fix from the cd on xp as by not having the samdrv file prevents access.

I haven't a clue how I can get xp loaded on to my system....

Should I have loaded or done something else before inserting the xp disc........would really love some help

love you all cheers

Hi ya again bailey, just noticed that you were the only one to reply to both mine.....doh! thanks for the welcome.

System is self build with, KT4 AV amd athlon xp mother b, maxtor 200gb 7700rrp hard drive, amd 2400 processor with evercool fan, ddram 512 x2, video card geforce4 440 128mb.

Thinks thats all you need on system.

I built machine got through to bios, then after only setting date, loaded xp. it was basically saying that it could'nt copy from cd and eventually files were missing.

I am unable to run the recovery/repair mode owing to the samsrv.dll file missing as this has a conflict with administrator password. Basically without this file the system cannot check permisions, so even tho ive not set a password system does not know this and subsequently won't let me in !!

I do not know any other way in to the system to upload missing files ! is there any ? I am thinking that I should mabey get a new xp cd from supplier and try again.
