Angry Fire In XP hell !

Hello people,

Been away from the forums for a while .. ie have had no issues with my build until yesterday !

I upgraded from Win98 SE to Win XP pro about 6 months back.. went of without a single hitch. This weekend i decided to upgrade to a bigger & faster HDISK so i got myself a 80Gb-8mb Cache WD drive.

Now i cant seem to install XP on the machine at all... i get all sorts of random errors during installation rite after XP copies files to my disk.. within 5 seconds of getting the message: Installing Windows

INTALLATION STOPPED BSOD !
(list of errors)

- IRQ not less than equal

- Page Fault in non-paged area

- Memory Dump Complete BSOD

I even tried loading WIN 98 SE on the same disk and it worked like a dream, and had the same errors when i tried to upgrade to XP Pro.

I must have tried atleast 15 times before i gave up, tried both file systems FAT 32 and NTFS - made no difference at all

I Can do with some help on this one

PS: I have 2x256mb PC 2100 DDR

Pull one of the RAM sticks while you install XP. The screen you got seems to be caused by the XP install not liking something about your RAM. So just install it with only one stick and after you get everything done on the install, re-install the second stick.
I have seen this problem alot since XP hit the stores.
Also, if your motherboard has built in LAN, disable it in the BIOS. I had a couple of boards with a via lan that gave me these screens until I disabled it. One the install was over, you reenable it and it will work fine.
