ie won't load web page
I have just built a new computer and I am runnig ie6/xp home with sp1, office xp pro, Armor2net firewall and Norton av. After I first installed I kept getting kicked off the net (see http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.p...threadid=78448 ) I installed sp1, got rid of the w32.welchia.worm and everything worked just fine until yesterday I disconnected from dial up and then a few minutes later started ie, it dialed but would not load the home page so, I selected a couple more sites from my favorites and got the same thing. It's like it didn't even try, Like "work offline" was checked or something (it wasn't) I'm not sure, but I think the message was "page not found". I restarted the computer and it worked great....until later in the day I started ie, it connected, but would not load the page again. So, restart (windows) and it did fine. Now this happens every time I disconnect and try to reconnect. At first I thought xp was just looking for updates or something, but now I don't think that's it...
The first time it happened, when it finally thru up the old "page not found" I looked and something like 35,000 bytes sent and 2000 rec'd. While all of this was going on, Armor2net was not showing any activity and according to it what was open was something called LSA SHELL (windows\system32\lsass.exe), norton & ie. I dnl'd spybot and ran it, no change. I guess I'll go dnl'd zonealarm and try it again (in the past it has bogged down my computers, but I'm sure there is a new version plus I have a faster computer) but in the mean time does anybody know what the heck is going on? Thanks!! DR
