installing win 95

A friend of mine doesn't own a computer and the company she works for was giving away old 486s. She just wants to do play basic card games like freecell and soliatire, so I was planning on throwing on a copy of windows 95 that I have ( so I could throw on office for her as well). I was wondering if there is any way to get a setup program on floppy cause the copy I have is on a CD and the computer has no cd-rom. I could install a cd-rom that i have lying around but that seems like more work than is needed. I just want to get windows 95 on the computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

there was a windows 95 version that was on floppies it was quite a few but if all you got is the cd it would be best to do the cd-rom option also cheaper as well.

Pull the hard drive and put it in another machine with a CD.
Copy the install stuff to an install directory on the hard drive, then install it ftom there when you put the drive back in her machine.
Same goes for the office suite.
I use an external zip disk feeding thru the parallel port to do the same thing for those occasions when I'm not close to another machine.

it would be much easier for him to just hook up a cdrom for the install, driver wise as well

Just throw in a 8x cd-rom, that'll do it and it's alot easier.

Another vote for plugging in a CD. It will make the machine a lot nicer for your friend = she can also listen to cds (if the pc has a sound card) while she works. 486s work fine with Win95, especially if you boost the memory to 32mb+.

Bite the bullet and install a CD. As others said, it will have lasting qualities.
