WinXP Search

The file search in WINXP's explorer is quite often failing, with a message something like "the search companion file is not found, you may need to run setup " What could be wrong

Thanks.I will try that.
But at the same time I find symptoms of W32/Dumaru.A@mm Worm. i find the entry HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run...
in the msconfig's start up.
Anti viruses are unable to get rid off all associated files completetly.
Find entry in registry with HKLM name.
Any procedure to remove this?

what av software have you used? i would try avg at www.grisoft.com and see if that can help you. i would also look to see if there is a removal tool like they had for blaster.

I was mistaken about the virus.
But the Microsoft patch mentioned by you earlier
fixed the problem. Thanks again.
