Did you just delete the solitaire.exe or go into Add/Remove programs/windows setup/accessories and uninstall the games, then reboot and reinstall them?

I would do the add/remove programs again and do a uninstall
Then reboot
Then find the folder and make sure it's deleted. If not go ahead and delete it.
Then reinstall.
If you are still getting an error then I suggest to do one of two things:
Post exactly what the error says: also doing a google search might help
or
There are shareware versions of solitaire out there that you can load in replacement.

Maybe she or some internet plug-in messed with some files/settings and now her computer won't run the .EXE, if the computer hasn't been reformated in a few years i would reformat, but otherwise just go with a third-party app. computers are funny that way sometimes.

The Internet Explorer is named differently. Its listed as iexplorer.exe. Explorere.exe is the taskbar and background and all that other junk.

Check out these links. I have seen that problem before with windows 98 but every pc seems to have a different fix. It seems that it has to do with third party installed on the machine or something of that nature. HTH

If you haven't uninstalled/reinstalled anything but the Games in Accessories - during this time that Solitaire is acting up - you can restore a Registry from before that point & see if it's a Registry setting. You boot the computer with a bootable floppy disk (you can make one if you don't have one handy - in Add/Remove Programs/Startup Disk), then from the A: prompt, type: scanreg/restore Choose a restore date from a successful boot prior to the trouble with Solitaire.

If you added a program or new hardware just before Solitaires troubles, the restore won't help, and you'd have to reinstall your new stuff. That's a whole different bag of troubleshooting... The links from edrod13 should get you to most of the common causes (often mouse drivers and such). . .

Best of luck

If it's a Logitech mouse, you've probably found the source of the problems.

When Logitech started adding BackWeb to their hardware installations, they started messing up a perfectly good product.

Here's what the BackWeb people say: "Logitech wanted to establish a direct relationship with its customers and improve its after-sales customer experience. By ensuring that end-users receive critical content such as notice of software upgrades, patches, and product promotions in a seamless, timely and cost-effective manner, Logitech is able to provide a high level of customer satisfaction with its products. In other words, a form of spyware in that it phones home looking for those all-important upgrades, patches and, of course, product promotions (i.e., advertising).

The end results are that installing a Logitech product can mess things up, seemingly at random and that "high level of customer satisfaction" is quickly going south.

Whether or not you resolve your problem. Try downloading 123 FreeSolitaire

My "solitaire junkie" mom loves it..
