Angry Fire Heads Up....

Last night, courtesy of MovieLink, I upgraded Windows Media Player.
I now think this was a mistake.
Not only do I have what both, AdAware and Spybot think is spyware but my WMA files and MP3s aren't playing.
We're taliking the ones bought from BuyMusinc and ITunes.
I've sent e-mails to support form both these sites and I'm waiting for the replies.
This isn't unchecking the cd copy protection either, it's unchecked, it looks like another way to scam consumers.
I'm really annoyed and not in the least willing to be tolerant

Thanks for the heads up, but the problem with iTunes songs may be that WMP won't play them anyway as it doesn't support AAC. Perhaps this is the case with buy music songs too but i think those are WMP format already. Make sure you still have the WMP certificates fot the music and that they havent been deleted.

It's suppose to play MP3s as well as wma, but, the point is, it's not playing either.
Also this didn't happen till I was required to download the latest MediaPlayer9 from MovieLink.
This is turkey time, Blockbusters can replace MovieLink, and I'm going to give ITunes and BuyMusic the grief they deserve.

BuyMusic just said it would give me a full refund if it couldn't fix the problem .
ITunes is assuring me it's at work on the problem.
The update that gave me fits is from 10/20, don't know how I missed it before but I did.
Digital copyrights on my comp ?
No way !!!

Hmmm... I guess I mis-understood your question. Disregard my answer.

It's not silly, it's just that MovieLink needs the upgrade to work.
I'm now deciding what I will do without.
I really want to ditch them all.

This may be quite simple. Any time you upgrade any player, if you don't pay close attention, it will set itself as the default player. go back into the player you have been using, and set it back as the default player.

Music downloaded from the iTunes music store is AAC format (advanced audio coding) It is currently impossible for WMP to play this format. I have no idea why Apple would say they are working on the problem when they have no control over what microsoft does. I would say that Movielink should bear the brunt of your fury rather than Apple or Microsoft as it was Movielink that provided the update, and Apple clearly state that their music is AAC format and will not play in WMP.

As of this evening I've gotten Itunes working again.
Still no luck with BuyMusic though.
Customer service has informed it's tech guys and, if they don't solve it, they'll give me a refund.
