I've never had any problems going from 98.1 to 98.2. And yes, it was / is much better. Don't remember it ever taking any more noticable HD space. Finally, it is always better to backup before making any upgrades to your system... for a "just-in-case."

Yes it was. No real difference in disk space usage between the two versions. One thing you should consider after the install is done, download the ME version of the defragger, it runs much more quickly (Although Disk keeper was my defragger of choice with win98, ran similar to the XP Defrag). As TwoRails stated, backup your files. Better to be safe than sorry....

There was two different ways to go from 98.1 to 98.2. One was the regular "upgrade," which would upgrade any prior Windows version. And then there was the "update," which would update only from 98.1 to 98.2. Being only about 120megs, it sounds like it was the "update" which is just fine as you do get the full Win 98.2 version.

I've never had any problems with the upgrade from FE to
SE. All of the files you have on your PC now will still be there
after the upgrade and you can decide if you want to keep
them.Dont forget to update the Media Player to 9. Its
much nicer that the 7
