How doi I get rid of the Win XP pop-up yellow balloon that appear, like when you want to shut down and when the modem goes on-line.

What you need is TweakUI. You can download it for free. Once installed, there is an option in the program to off the baloons. There is also another program called XPtweaker or something like that. I have not tried it. Hope this helps. Personally, I will keep the baloon-cause sometimes you have a plug and play device that will eb detected by the cpu. This is a good way to know your devices are working

I think that-once you've dissable the baloon for modem-all baloons will be dissable. I bare with it. I may be wrong.

Start Regedit
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

Change the value of EnableBalloonTips from 1 to 0

Thanks for the help, everyone; but Bobojuice, I don't understand your comment?

Go back and look at the Bobojuice post. It was edited by the moderator and Bobojuice was sent a PM (personal message). This site doesn't tolerate flaming or vulgar language. I suspect his comment fell into one of those catagories.
