NT4 Event Logs printing problem
Had posted this in the wrong place earlier today, can anyone help?
NT4 Event Logs printing problem Hello I am having occasional problems with the NT4 network I look after now and then. The users complain that when they go to print, their pc screens go black, then come back blue with the Windows error message on screen saying that there is not enough room on the server. I don't think this is even happening with large print jobs either. When I look at the three or four event logs on the server, there are hundreds of events. I clear all of these and then the printing can continue. But it has happened twice in one week now. There are two network printers, one is an all-dancing photcopier+printer (Canon), and the other is a colour Minolta. Any ideas about having these event logs clear themselves after a certain point? Perhaps the problem lies elsewhere? Are these event logs much use to me? All the hardware in this set up is around three or fours years old. Thanks all, |

If it has just recently started happening, I`d ask what if any changes have been made just prior. New software, hardware, upgrades, etc?
Try to track down if a particular client is stalling the print spooler which may involve methodically printing from each client and see if the print job is going through or hanging. If one hangs, any print job coming after it will hang also. |

all so check how much free hard drive space you have on the server as it may be full
