Svchost probs

I recently(about a week ago) installed win2k on my comp and im having a rather annoying problem, shortly after i go online, svchost causes some unknown error and dies, at that point i find myself unable to drag things, use most right click functions, and vew most windows normally, i tried deleting svchost, just to see if it did anything, i found three or four copies, i deleted two, the other two were being used by windows, any ideas as to how i can fix this annoying little problem of mine?

Methinks thou hast been hack'd.
Running 2k online sans firewall is asking for it, by the way.
There should be about 4 instances of svchost running, but don't quote me. They are "services" and some of them can be disabled under administrative tools. Not for the timid.
You are a perfect victim of blaster, and a few others that are rampant.
Get kerio firewall, or be a aol user and get za.

My XP Pro currently has 5 copies of svchost running. There three from "System," 1 from network service, and another for local service. I tried blocking svchost with my ZA once, my PC acted weird and could not connect to the net.

heh, it seems that my problem is getting pinged, or something like that, im really only seeing 3 things
ICMP PING CyberKit 2.2 Windows
ICMP Destination Unreachable (Port Unreachable)
and one similar to that only with Communication Administratively Prohibited in the parenthesis

any idea as to how to fix these? they seem to do it even when i hit stop all traffic
