Trimming Down XP
Can someone please tell me how I can trim some of the useless crap off of XP to make it run faster? For example, all of the artsy XP backgrounds... And how can I make it look more like 98/2000?

I don't think making the XP desktop look like earlier Win versions will make XP run faster. But to change it to look like early Win:
go to the control panel > Taskbar & start menu > "start menu" tab > select classic windows to change the desktop theme: right click on the desktop > properties > then change the settings there.
