Pissed System Instability

ok, Im running on Windows XP Home edition and I've had some problems with it lately... First off... the computer randomly shuts down... just out of the blue... sometimes when im playing Counter-Strike... surfing the next... typing a report.. just any given time ... I'll hear one beep and then the bios screen will load and the computer will restart... I have the latest updates from Microsoft and everythings updated to the most current driver etc... So why is my system just randomly restarting? thanks
Here are my specs:

Asus a7v-e Motherboard
900mhz tbird
512mb kingston ram
30gb maxtor 7200 rpm
32x12x40 Lite On CD Burner
16x Lite on DVD Drive
Floppy
Ati 7500 64mb DDR Video Card
Hercules Game Theater 5.1 Sound Card
Linksys Ethernet Adapter...
All running on WIndows XP Home...

one of the commons problems are a poor quality power supply or something overheating, and ram not confiqured correctly for any overclocking

Ive got a sparkle 350w psu.. btw.. and Im not overclocking anything...

I dont know.. I guess the psu could be defective or something.. but it hasn't cause me any problems yet... I dont have any spare ones... I guess I'd have to go buy one to see if that does anything...

bailey gave you several options.
Check for overheating before you buy anything.

It could have been a software problem?
